Mermaid Scales

Step One: Select a mermaid base.

Step Two: Make sure the base is in RGB Mode

Step Tree Select the pencil tool on 1 px

Step Four decide what color you want the fins to be and select the darkest shade. Make an outline around the tail/fin area.

Step Five: Draw dark line where you want there to be detail

Step Six: If you are using one of my base you will noted that on the base is already a scale patter. I did this to make it easier  for you to make your mermaid. :}Using the dark color trace the scales or make a scale like pattern. When done fill with a liter color.

Step seven. Re trace the scales with a very lite color this will enhance the scales

Step 8: to show more form to the fin. Make a new layer and trace n out line where legs would be and where the tail creases.

Step Nine using gaussian blur fade out the traced detail to make it look smoother.

    My Final Result. This was my first mermaid ever.
