Making Eyes

Step One: By the time you get to this you should already have your doll dressed. At least that's the way I prefer to do it so I know what kind of eyes and hair and makeup will go with what the doll is wearing. But you can do it your way. :} Ok so first get the base head or what ever and make sure that the image is in RGB Made. You will notice this is step one for almost all my tutorials.

Step Two: now choose your pencil tool and make sure it is on its smallest size one pixel.

Step 3: Create a new layer so you don't actually draw on the doll so if you make a big mistake you can always go back and start from the beginning.

Step four: Zoom in to the general area where you want the eyes to be. Doesn't have to be the exact spot you can always move the eyes later which will be easy being that this is a separate later. I keep a box around the area through out the tutorial to make it easier.

Step 5: First we want to start with making the eyebrows. I like to make my eyebrows with a nice high curve. I draw them starting from the in side on draw one at a time or copy and free transform if you like.

Step 6: Once you have the eyebrows done you want to make the eyelid. Generally there should be at least a 2 pixel space between the eyebrow and the eyelid.

Step 7: Now we want to draw the top outline of the eye. a lot of people like to keep it one pixel always from the lid. But I prefer it this way .

Step 8: now we draw the bottom outline of the eye. You don't have to follow this tutorial to ever exact note. You can draw your eyes a little bigger or smaller or a different shape. This is just to give you a basic guide of how it is done. Or at least the way I do it.

Step 9: Now using the fill to fill in the center of the eye with white.

Step 10: Make a 4px lone square in the center of the eye. leave on small dot white or go back and make one. this makes the eye look more realistic.

Step 11: Using a lighter color make 2 small don't on the square again giving the eye  a little realistic effect. 

Step 12: Tada you eyes are don zoom out and take a look:. Once your doll is dressed or you know what color clothes you she/he will be wearing. You can go back and do the makeup. She the makeup tutorial for that. CLICK HERE TO JUMP TO MAKE UP TUT:
